Cosmetic Services at Walk-In to Wellness

Looking your best is part of feeling your best. That’s why Dr. Zannis offers cosmetic services as part of his wellness program. From facials and fat freezing to Botox and Laser treatments, Walk-In to Wellness has several cosmetic treatments designed to help you look youthful, healthy, and fit.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Facials

One of the newest cosmetic treatments growing immensely in popularity is the platelet-rich plasma (PRP).  The PRP facial (also called a vampire facial) uses a sample of your own blood. Platelets contain an abundance of proteins called growth factors. During the PRP procedure, a medical professional draws your blood and then puts it into a centrifuge, which separates blood components. Your blood, along with an injectable filler, is then injected into your face, using microneedling techniques. The PRP facial stimulates the growth of collagen and healthy skin cells, giving you more youthful-looking skin. There is very little downtime.

Botox

The wildly popular minimally-invasive cosmetic procedure, Botox continues to reign supreme as the most popular cosmetic treatment. Botox (botulinum toxin) is an injectable used to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. The injections block nerve impulses and paralyze the underlying muscles.  The treatment targets fine lines and wrinkles – really deep wrinkles, on the brows, forehead, and around the eyes (crow’s feet).  It’s also used to plump thin lips. You will start to notice a difference within a few days, and its effect can last 4 to 6 months.

Younger people, women, and men use Botox as a preventative measure. Part of Botox’s popularity is attributed to its versatility. Not only does it help smooth your skin by reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, but it also enhances your lips, targets excessive sweating, eases migraine headaches, and much more.

If you think Botox is a good option for you, our team will evaluate you as a potential candidate. If we determine that Botox is a good option for you, we will determine the number of injections you require. One of the best advantages of Botox is that you have no downtime or recovery period. You can resume normal activities immediately after treatment.

Laser Hair Removal

Imagine not having to shave, wax or tweeze unwanted hair from your body. Laser hair removal, which is extremely popular, is an excellent, more permanent option for all of the above-mentioned methods of hair removal. The non-invasive treatment involves beaming a highly concentrated light (laser) into hair follicles. This energy is converted to heat, which damages hair follicles that produce hair, keeping new hair from growing. The most common areas of the body targeted with laser hair removal are the face (upper lip and chin), bikini areas, armpit, legs, back, chest, neck, and shoulders. While individual results vary, it works for nearly all skin tones and hair colors, for men and women. There’s typically no downtime for laser hair removal.

Acne Treatments

Acne is the most common skin condition in the United States, and while it mostly targets teenagers or young adults, anyone can get acne. Leaving acne untreated could lead to the development of dark spots or permanent scars. The earlier you treat acne, the better the results.  Besides topicals – which may give you only a temporary fix – there are a number of treatments for acne, including lasers and other light therapies, and chemical peels. Doctors use the latter to treat two types of acne – blackheads and papules. You can also undergo a procedure called “drainage and extraction”, which will remove large acne cysts.

Laser Acne Treatments

Lasers are one of the most popular ways to treat acne. There are different types of laser treatments for acne, especially acne scars. They fall into two categories: ablative lasers and non-ablative lasers. Ablative lasers remove the top layer of skin or thin layers of skin. They include the carbon dioxide (CO2) laser and the erbium laser. The less invasive non-ablative lasers basically stimulate collagen production. Among this group of lasers is the popular intense pulsed light (IPL) devices. Results are generally long-lasting, but of course, will also vary from person to person.
